Description
The Chapel to Framlingham College is a school chapel located immediately to the east of the main school buildings, connected to them by an enclosed cloister. The nave was built in 1866 by Frederick Peck, while the chancel was completed in 1875 by Barnes and Bishopp. Designed in the Gothic style, the chapel features red brick and slate construction with stone window details. A small tower with a steeply-pointed roof is situated at the south-west corner. The nave consists of four bays, each with a two-light traceried window, and has an apsidal east end supported by stepped buttresses. There are very short transepts on both the north and south sides. The interior is simple, featuring plain arches along the nave walls and two steeply-pointed serrated arches in each transept. The open timber roof has been boxed in.
