Description
The pillar box located at the junction of Mount Pleasant and College Road in Framlingham is a Grade II listed structure. It is one of a pair of Victorian letter boxes, designed in the early Mainland style by Andrew Hendy & Co. of Derby, dating from 1856 to 1857. Made of cast iron, it features a square plinth and a moulded base, leading to a panelled octagonal shaft topped with a moulded shallow conical cap. The vertical posting aperture is adorned with a Royal crown above, flanked by the initials V.R.
