Description
Watermill House and the adjoining watermill are located in Wenhaston Mells. The mill house features an early 19th century facade with a core that may date back to the 18th century or even earlier. It has an L-shaped plan, is timber framed, and has been partly rebuilt in brick with a plastered finish. The roof is covered with glazed pantiles and the building stands two storeys high. It has a four-window range, primarily consisting of mid-20th century three-light casements. The doorway is asymmetrical and features a mid-20th century glazed door, with a simple open porch supported by two slender tapering wooden columns. There is a small first-floor window above the doorway, and a single-storey mid-20th century wing extends to the left side.
The adjoining watermill dates from the late 18th to early 19th century but underwent significant rebuilding in the mid-20th century. It is also timber framed and weatherboarded, with a pantile roof. Originally, the watermill had three storeys and an attic. It now features mid-20th century casement windows and doors, along with a lucam on the north gable. The waterwheel, machinery, and interior fittings have been removed.
