Description

Lime Tree Cottages are two cottages that were formerly one house, dating from the 17th century with 19th-century alterations. The building has a three-cell plan and was extended to the right in the early 19th century. It is two storeys high and features a timber frame that is encased in 19th-century red brick at the front, while the sides and rear are plastered. The right-hand end has a red brick parapet gable. The roof is covered with Roman pantiles and has a central 17th-century chimney with four square flues, each separated by a slender sunk panel, which has since been infilled. The cottages have various 19th and 20th-century casement windows and half-glazed entrance doors.
