Description
Newton Hall is a farmhouse that was formerly a manor house, likely dating from the 16th century, with alterations made during various periods. It features a hall range with a cross-wing, which was extended to the north in the late 16th or 17th century. The building has two storeys and is constructed with timber framing and rough-cast, with the lower walls built in the 19th century using painted brick. A parapet gable was added to the cross-wing in the 19th century. The roofs are covered with plain tiles and have internal and end chimneys made of red brick. The windows are 20th-century small-pane casements. There is a one-storey open entrance porch from around 1840, which has a crow-stepped parapet gable and a four-centred arched doorway, leading to a four-panelled inner entrance door.
