Description
Swilland Manor is a house dating from around 1600, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building has two storeys and is constructed with a timber frame and plaster. It features end chimneys, with the parlour chimney on the right being plastered and previously having two attached hexagonal chimneys. The windows are 20th-century casements with leaded lights. The entrance door, which is early 19th century, has four panels and is surrounded by a broad reeded frame. Inside, the parlour fireplace from around 1600 boasts a richly carved oak surround and overmantel. The house also has a good wind-braced clasped-purlin roof. There are 19th-century extensions, one storey high on the left and right, and another two-storey extension at the rear.
