Description
Nos 9 and 11 on Market Hill are 16th-century buildings that stand two stories tall. They have a timber frame with a plastered first floor, which is flush with the upper floor that was filled in with mid-19th century brick, painted. The rear is constructed of red brick and the roof is tiled. The buildings feature five sash windows in flush frames, although the glazing bars are modern. There is a modern link to a single-story red brick school to the south, which has two pointed wooden triceried windows and a roof partly renewed with pantiles. These buildings are part of the boundary of the churchyard and are included in a group of listed buildings around The Shire Hall.
