Description

No. 9 Castle Street is an 18th-century house that stands two storeys high with attics. It has a timber-framed structure, partially plastered, with a brick facade on the ground storey and a pantiled roof. The building features one sliding sash window on each storey, along with a flat-headed dormer. The entrance is a plank door. This house appears to be an extension of No. 7 and shares a roofline with it. Inside, some lightweight lace timbering is exposed, and on the upper storey, an earlier, lower roofline can be seen against the gable end of No. 11, which is plastered and shows traces of comb-pargetting. The property is included for its group value.
