Description

No. 8 Castle Street is a mid-19th century house with shop premises on the ground floor. The building has three storeys and features a red brick front, with timber-framed sides and rear. It has a pantiled roof that extends with a wide eaves overhang. There is a plain brick band between the first and second storeys. The upper storeys have three large-paned sash windows set in deep reveals, each with moulded wedge lintels. The ground floor is double-fronted with shop windows that span the entire frontage, divided by thick vertical glazing bars and applied pilasters.
