Description
This is a 17th-century barn located 20 meters west-southwest of Cookley Green Farmhouse. It is constructed with a timber frame and weatherboarding, and the roof is covered with corrugated iron sheeting. The barn features a well-preserved frame with four bays, including a cart entrance in the third bay from the west. The two westernmost bays were originally floored over, although the floors have since been reconstructed. There are ovolo-moulded mullioned windows on both levels, indicating that this part of the barn may have been used for living accommodation, possibly on a seasonal basis, as there is no evidence of heating. The roof consists of eight bays with two rows of butt purlins and arched wind-bracing.
