Description

DEBACH COAKERS LANE TM 25 SW (North eastern end) 8/66 - Keens Farmhouse - II

Farmhouse. C16 or C17. Timber framed with colourwashed render and brick skin with a plain tile roof, probably originally thatched. Two storeys with attic. Three cells. Entrance front: brick walling to the ground floor, being re-used C16 or C17 brick brought from Low Farm, Debach. Rendered timber framing to the first floor. Gabled porch to the ground floor at left of centre with a 2-light casement window to the gable end and a door to its right flank. To the right of this are two 3-light casements and to the first floor are three 3-light windows with a single-light window over the porch. Massive 2-flue chimney stack to left of centre over the porch. Right hand gable end: chimney stack with offsets to centre. To the first floor is a 2-light window with cambered head and two attic 2-light windows. Left hand gable end: to the ground floor is a gabled single storey extension. Rear: a ground floor C20 gabled porch at right. To left of this is a 2-light C20 window and a 3-light C17 window with ovolo-moulded mullions to left again. To left of these is a projecting gabled wing with a 2-light first floor casement and attached, and projecting at left is a flat-roofed C20 addition. Interior: Not inspected.
