Description
Nest Farmhouse is a former farmhouse dating from the early 17th century. It is two storeys tall and has a three-cell lobby-entrance layout. The building is timber-framed and rendered, topped with clay pantiles. It features an internal chimney stack with a plain rebuilt red brick shaft, while Tudor bricks are visible at the base.
On the upper floor, there are four windows, and three on the ground floor. At the north end, there is a 20th-century standard window on each floor, while the remaining windows are 18th-century three-light casements with transoms and pintle hinges. The main entrance door is slightly recessed and has six flush panels, a flat pediment, and a plain architrave, with reeded and panelled jambs. Inside, one section of chamfered joists is exposed and set flat, while the rest of the frame is covered.
