Description

First World War memorial, 1921, with later additions for the Second World War.

DESCRIPTION: the memorial stands in the churchyard, to the east of the Church of All Saints (Grade II*). The memorial comprises a plain stone wheel-head cross with a tapering rough-hewn plinth on a square base.

The main inscription in incised and black-painted lettering on the west face of the plinth reads: IN GLORIOUS MEMORY OF/ THE MEN OF THIS PARISH/ WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR/ 1914–1918/ (7 NAMES)/ 1939–1945/ (2 NAMES)/ THEIR NAME LIVETH/ FOR EVERMORE.
