Description

The Willows is a house dating from around 1710. It has an L-shaped layout. The exterior is timber-framed and plastered, with the plaster being finished to resemble ashlar. There's a plaster cove eaves cornice and a plaintiled roof. The house is two storeys high with an attic.

The north facade, facing The Street, has two bays with well-preserved, original three-light mullion and transom windows featuring square leaded glass. A central doorway has a six-panel raised and fielded door, a shouldered architrave, a frieze, and a dentil-detailed triangular pediment. Two dormers with hipped roofs and original leaded windows are also present, along with an internal stack. The west facade has three bays, with windows similar to those on the north facade. A central entrance porch has a flat parapet and a six-panel door with the upper four panels glazed. Above the door is a rectangular fanlight with ornamental leaded glass, a reeded architrave, and a cornice. Two dormers, matching those on the north facade, complete this elevation. Inside, there's a good staircase with slender twisted balusters.
