Description
The Falcon is a public house that dates from the late 16th century to early 17th century, with an 18th-century facade. It has an L-shaped plan and is timber framed with roughcast render, except for the rear which is plastered. The building features a modern plaintiled roof and stands two storeys high with an attic. The facade has seven bays, with sash windows that have glazing bars in flush frames. Some of the first-floor windows are 18th-century with heavier glazing bars, while others are later replacements. The doorway is asymmetrical and features a late 19th-century gabled porch with ornamental bargeboards and a spike finial, along with a door that has four vertical panels. A former doorway on the left side has been replaced by a window. The return fronts have a cove eaves cornice, and there are two internal stacks.
