Description
The Red House is a house dating from the mid to late 18th century, with earlier work at the rear. It is constructed of red brick and features a plain tiled roof laid in a diaper pattern. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a symmetrical five-bay facade. The windows are sash with glazing bars set in flush frames, and there are flat brick arches above them. The inset doorway has a six-panel door, with the upper four panels glazed, and features panelled reveals, pilasters with a frieze, and a triangular pediment supported by carved console brackets. Additionally, there is a plaster cove eaves cornice and an original staircase with carved ends to the treads.
