Description

Brook Hall is a farmhouse that likely dates from the early 17th century on the west side and the early 19th century on the east side. The east wing was probably added shortly after the original Brook Hall, which was not located on this site, was demolished in 1805. The building has a T-shaped plan.

The east wing, which faces the front, is constructed of colourwashed brick and has a plaintile roof. It is two storeys high and features a four-window range, with the windows coupled from the ground to the first floor by pilasters. The first-floor windows are inset sashes with glazing bars, while the ground floor has large pane double doors from the 20th century, all under flat arches. The doorway is asymmetrical and includes a flat-roofed porch with a six-panel door and a fanlight with a segmental head. The eaves cornice is decorated with wooden modillions, and the ends of the roof have Dutch gables.

The west wing, located at the rear, is timber-framed and mostly faced with 18th-century colourwashed brick, topped with a plaintiled roof. It also has two storeys and an attic, with a two-window range featuring inset sashes with glazing bars and flat brick arches. There is one large pane window from the mid-20th century on the ground floor. The doorway here has panelled reveals, fluted pilasters, a frieze, a cornice, and an inset six-panel door, with the upper four panels being glazed.
