Description
A pair of gate piers located 100 metres south of Parham House, dating from the early to mid-17th century, serves as the main entrance to the house. Constructed from ashlar, the square piers stand approximately 4.5 metres high and feature undercut ovolo-moulding at the corners, along with a moulded plinth and cornice. Each pier is topped with a stone sphere on a short stalk. The inner sides of the piers have projections that end in scrolled consoles. One of the piers is situated in Framlingham parish.
