Description
Robin's Nest is a house dating from the 16th or 17th century. It is timber framed, finished with colourwashed render, and topped with a thatched roof. The house has two storeys. The entrance front features close-studded walling, with a lean-to on the right that includes a 20th-century recessed porch and door with moulded muntins. To the left, there are a three-light window, two two-light windows, and a further two-light window with chamfered mullions at the far left on the ground floor. The first floor has a three-light window on the right and a two-light window on the left. A ridge chimney stack is located on the left side, with another lean-to beside it. On the right side, there is a lean-to porchway on the left and close-studding on the gable, which bears the date 1541. There is a further projecting range on the right, featuring 17th-century windows with moulded mullions and surrounds. At the rear, there is a projecting wing on the left, with 19th and 20th-century windows to the right of this. Inside, the house has chamfered ceiling beams and close studding in the ground and first floor rooms, along with jowled wall posts and cambered tiebeams.
