Description

Tanyard House is an early 19th-century house located on Station Road, Woodbridge. Built of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, it has a Welsh slate roof and slightly-projecting brick end stacks. The house follows a central staircase plan and is two storeys high. The front features a three-window arrangement at the first floor, with 6/6 sash windows under gauged brick flat arches. A similar arrangement is found on the ground floor. The central doorway is arched and contains a four-panel door with a fanlight above. The left end of the facade is blank. The rear of the house has four similar sash windows and a doorway with a part-glazed door. A single-storey extension is also present at the rear. Inside, a small stick-baluster staircase is a notable feature. Tanyard House is a well-preserved, high-quality example of a house from its period, with relatively few alterations.
