Description

This is an 18th-century building, likely a shop, located near the centre of town. It is two storeys high and constructed of red brick, with a pantile roof. The front has two sash windows on the upper floor, featuring staggered horizontal glazing bars. The ground floor windows are topped with flat arches. A central six-panel door is set within a wooden case with panelled reveals and reeded pilasters. The building has a cellar. It is part of a group of properties, numbers 9 to 17 (odd), along with number 2 Northgate, which collectively contribute to the character of the Old Market. All sides of the Old Market contribute to its general character.
