Description
Cranstons is a pair of houses located on High Street in Aldeburgh, dating from the early 19th century. The buildings are constructed of colourwashed brick and feature a pantile roof with a rebuilt central ridge stack.
The exterior is two stories tall, with each house displaying a nearly symmetrical two-window front. Each house has a six-panel door; the door for No. 239 has glazed upper panels, while the door for No. 241 is fully glazed. Each house also includes a shallow projecting bay on the inner side, fitted with unhorned 8/8 sash windows under segmental heads. To the right of the door at No. 239 is a single 3/3 unhorned sash window, and to the left of the door at No. 241 is a 6/6 unhorned sash window, both with segmental heads. On the first floor, there are four 6/6 unhorned sash windows with flush frames. The buildings also feature a dentil eaves cornice. The interior has not been inspected.
