Description
Rose Cottage is an early 19th-century house located on Stoney Road in Grundisburgh. The building is constructed from colourwashed and stuccoed brick, topped with a pantile roof. It stands two storeys high and features a symmetrical five-bay facade. The central ground-floor doorway is framed with a classical surround and includes a six-panel door with panelled reveals and an open pediment above. On either side of the door are cambered-headed horned sash windows, each containing three rows of four panes. The first floor has four similar windows, with the central bay being a blank recess. A large projecting lantern is situated over the door. The roof is hipped on the left side and gable-ended on the right, with ridge chimneys positioned to the left of centre and on the right. The rear of the house has 20th-century casement windows and flat-roofed additions at ground floor level. This property is included for its group value.
