Description
This is a barn located approximately 70 metres north west of Shotley Hall, dating from the 18th to 19th century. It is timber framed and covered in weatherboarding, topped with a red pantiled roof. The barn features two gabled midstreys facing south and is likely composed of six bays, with one bay used for storage at the time of the last survey. The walls are supported by through bracing and feature hanging knees to the tie-beams. Inside, there is a double staggered side purlin roof with a ridge board. Attached to the west is a six-bay cartlodge made of red brick, also with a red pantiled roof and a king post roof. This building is included for its group value.
