Description
Church Cottage is a cottage that dates back to the early 17th century, though it has earlier origins and has undergone later alterations and additions. It features a timber frame that is plastered, topped with a red plain tiled roof. There are chimney stacks on both the right and left sides of the building. The cottage has one storey and attics, with single storey extensions on both the right and left. It includes a gabled dormer with a 19th-century two-light casement window, and three ground floor 20th-century casements. The central entrance is a vertically boarded door, with an older door located at the rear. Inside, the cottage reveals evidence of at least two phases of construction: the right side is from the 17th century, while the left side may date from the 16th century, 17th century, or even earlier. There is an inglenook fireplace in the left section of the cottage.
