Description

The Black Lion Inn is a timber-framed and plastered building dating back to the 16th century, with a later wing added to the south side. A 20th-century lean-to addition extends from the north end. The main block has two storeys and a gabled front, featuring a jettied upper storey supported by a carved bressumer with folded ribbon ornamentation. The north part of the building is obscured by a modern bay. Most of the windows are casements. The roof is tiled. The interior retains good exposed ceiling beams and joists.
