Description

This is a 15th-16th century hall house, with a floor inserted in the 16th or 17th century. It was restored and renovated in the 20th century. The house has cross wings at the north-west and south-east ends, featuring jettied upper storeys supported by exposed joists and curved brackets with moulded capitals and shafts. The exterior timber framing is visible on the front. The cross wings are two storeys high, while the central block has a single storey with attics. The windows are mullioned and transomed casements with latticed leaded lights, most being 20th-century replacements, although some are in original window openings. The roof is tiled, with two modern gabled dormers added to the central block. Modern chimney stacks are present. The building demonstrates group value as an outstanding example of a timber-framed hall house.
