Description

Chestnut Cottage is a 17th to 18th century timber-framed and plastered house located on Hall Street in Long Melford. The cottage features a gabled front and is currently faced with roughcast. There is an addition at the north end, where the roof extends down to ground storey level. The building has two storeys and attics, with one window range in the main part and one window range in the addition, both featuring small casement windows. The windows are double-hung sashes with glazing bars, and the roof is covered with old tiles.
