Description
The railings and gates to the front gardens of Constables and Five Firs date from the late 18th century. They are made of cast iron and red brick. The railings are supported by a dwarf wall and feature spearhead standards, arrowhead bars, and dogbars. The bottom rail is decorated with a quatrefoil motif. There are matching double gates to the left and a single gate leading to Constables. These railings were originally part of the Constable family house, which was built in the late 1770s and demolished in the 19th century. They are included for their group value.
