No 1 on Shilling Street is a 17th century building constructed from timber framing and plaster. It has been restored and renovated, featuring traditional-style casement windows. The roof is tiled and the building has two storeys. The arrangement of windows is irregular, with mullioned windows that have leaded lights. The southern part of the roof is lower, following the slope of the street.
