Description

Nos 7 and 8, Shilling Street are a timber-framed and plastered building dating from the 16th century, with a tiled roof and a central chimney stack featuring three octagonal shafts. The building is two storeys high. The upper storey is jettied across the entire front, supported by exposed joists. The upper storey displays some pargetted emblems, and the ground storey retains some remains of panel pargetting. The ground storey contains two casement windows and one double-hung sash window. A centrally positioned, blocked two-light mullioned window is present on the upper storey. The interior reveals exposed beams.
