House. Mid C18 with C20 alterations. Rendered and colour washed timber-frame with thatch roof and brick ridge and external stacks. PLAN: 3-unit plan with winder stair in smaller central unit. EXTERIOR: single storey and attic, gable facing, C20 casements throughout. Plank door to left of large external projecting stack with 2 single-light windows above. Left side has 2 2-light casements with tiny central window and 2-light above. Right side facing garden has porch with door, lean-to extension to left, 2-light casement to far left, 3-light casement to right and 2-light gabled dormer over. Rear gable end has C20 extension with 2-light casement over. INTERIOR: small amount of tall panel framing visible. Bridging beams with run-out stops to ground floor, 2 open fireplaces with bressumers, the opening to the external stack narrowed internally. Winder stair. Although the roof is not visible internally, rafter, purlin and wall plate ends visible externally suggest the roof is probably original. HISTORY: owners report deeds going back to 1742.
