Description
The Black Horse is a public house, likely built in the early 17th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It features a timber-framed structure that is rendered, topped with a plain tile roof. The building has two storeys and three windows on the first floor. There are two 20th-century round-arched brick entrances that contain half-glazed doors, and the windows throughout are also 20th-century casements, with brick soldier arches on the ground floor and a band on the first floor. A decorative iron bracket supports a signboard. The roof is swept, with an end stack on the left and a ridge stack on the right. At the rear, there is an outshut under a catslide roof. Inside, there is a chamfered cross beam, and to the right, a longitudinal stop-chamfered beam with exposed joists that have hollow chamfers and run-out stops. The cambered end wall plate and part of the posts are visible, while the left side has reproduction beams and joists.
