Description
This is a late 19th century red brick house owned by Alston Limited, located next to Cocoanut House in Long Melford. The building has three storeys and features a three-window range with double-hung sash windows that lack glazing bars, set in moulded reveals with ornamental pierced brick segmental arched heads. The sills of the windows project on stub brackets. The outer windows on the ground and first storeys are three-light, with narrow outer lights. A central six-panel door is topped by a segmental fanlight and has an ornamental pierced brick arch soffit that matches the window lintels. Raised brick bands run across the front of the house between the storeys. The roof is tiled and gabled at both the north and south ends, adorned with ornamental shaped and pierced bargeboards.
