Description

No. 7 Birch Street is a 16th and 17th century timber-framed and plastered house, with the timber framing visible on the upper storey. At the east end, there is a 16th century cross wing that has two storeys and attics. The upper storey juts out, supported by exposed joists and features a moulded and embattled bressummer in the gable. The two-storey main block appears to have been rebuilt in the 17th century. The house has a one-to-two window range, with casements that have leaded lights. There is a remnant of an original window on the upper storey, which has a modern casement inserted. The doors are boarded with studded fillets, dating from the 20th century. The roofs are covered with old tiles.
