Description
Grove Farmhouse is a former farmhouse built around 1820-1830. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a hipped slate roof. The building has a rectangular shape and is two stories high with a symmetrical three-bay facade. On the ground floor, there are six-pane horned sash windows set beneath cambered arches, along with a six-panel door. The upper four panels of the door are raised and fielded, while the lower two are flush, all framed in a moulded architrave with rosettes at the corners and beneath a fanlight with glazing bars. The door is fitted with HL hinges. The first floor has three twelve-pane sash windows, with the central window being original and the two outer ones being horned replacements. A brick stack is located on the left side, while the right stack is set to be replaced. The eaves of all facades are supported by paired brackets. At the rear, the first floor features small-paned casements.
Inside, there are doors on either side of the entrance, each with four raised panels and HL hinges. A slender wooden archway with an elliptical head and raised key block is located at the foot of the stairs, with a similar pair at the top of the stairs, although the right one is simpler. Moulded alcoves are present on either side of the fireplace.
