Description

The Friars is an 18th-century building located on Friars Street. It has two storeys, cellars, and attics, featuring three dormers and tiled roofs. The late 18th-century front is made of plastered brick with a cornice below the parapet. The facade includes a five-window range with flush frame sash windows that have glazing bars. There are central arched doorways with a six-panel door and a fanlight. To the right, there is a two-storey, one-window small wing with a six-panel door and fanlight in a simple case, known as No 33. The building is part of a group that includes Nos 27 to 31 (odd), The Friars, and Nos 33 to 45 (odd), as well as Nos 49 and 51.
