Description
Two cottages, likely dating from the 18th century and early 19th century. Hatters Cottage is timber-framed and rendered with whitewashed brick detailing. The Old House has whitewashed brick detailing. Both have plain tile roofs and brick stacks. The cottages are single-storey with an attic. Hatters Cottage has a 3-cell plan. It features a shop window with glazing bars and a half-glazed door to the left, and two casements with shutters to the right, flanking a painted inscription reading 'DEALZR IN HATTS'. A large, off-centre ridge stack sits to the right of the building, and the roof is a Mansard style. The Old House has a shop window with glazing bars and a door to the left, also with a Mansard roof. The cottages were undergoing renovation at the time of the resurvey, and the interior of either cottage has not been inspected.
