Description
The Old Cottage is a timber-framed house with a cross wing situated at the east end. It likely dates back to the medieval period, with alterations made during the 16th and 17th centuries. The western bay of the main section of the house has been plastered, while the rest of the timber frame remains exposed with plaster infill. The upper storey of the cross wing juts out from the front, supported by exposed joists. The main block is one storey high with attics, while the cross wing is two storeys high. Windows are lattice-leaded casements, and the ground-floor window of the cross wing is flanked by small, high-level lights. The roof is tiled. A tall chimney stack is located on the south side of the main block, and there is one modern dormer window.
