Description

The Sawyers House is a 17th-century beerhouse, later converted into a private house. The original central section is a single storey with a dormer attic, featuring exposed vertical studs of a thin profile. The roof is covered in pantiles. A plank door is located to the left, set within a gabled porch which incorporates two staircase baluster newels reused as decorative elements. A second door is positioned to the right, sheltered by a sloping hood. Three late 20th-century canted bay windows have been added. The roof is gabled and includes three 20th-century dormers. A ridge stack is situated left of centre, and an external gable-end stack sits to the east. A brick extension, containing double garage doors, has been built to the east. A two-storey, two-bay brick west extension features two-light casement windows. The roof is gabled. Internally, exposed timber studwork is visible.
