Description
Dairy Farm Barn is a barn dating from the early to mid 19th century. It is constructed of cob on a tall brick plinth and features a pantile roof. The barn has a three-bay plan with a contemporary outshut at the rear and opposing central cart entrances. There is one doorway on the east side with a brick segmental head. Remains of timber putlogs or shutter stays can be seen protruding diagonally from the corners. The barn has shaped rafter sprockets and a hipped roof with a catslide over the outshut. Inside, there are two bolted king-post trusses with Y struts, and several re-used timbers are present. There are later brick additions to the rear. This barn is included on the heritage list due to the extreme rarity of cob construction in East Anglia.
