Description

The Orchards is a late 17th-century house located on the north side of Queen Street in Spooner Row. Originally situated approximately 600 yards south of the church, it is a timber-framed building, now plastered and whitewashed. It has a thatched roof and is one storey high with a dormer attic. The front features a 20th-century French door with side lights on the left, a 3-light 19th-century casement window in the centre, and a door and window to the right. The gabled roof is thatched and incorporates two eaves dormers, with a dormer on the right also featuring 20th-century details. A rebuilt ridge stack is located to the left of the centre.
