Description

Nos. 1 and 2 Station Road are a pair of estate cottages built in 1866, featuring a datestone with the Wodehouse crest and motto. The cottages are constructed from brick and flint and have plain tiled roofs. They have an asymmetric plan with a short gabled wing on one side and stand two storeys tall. The windows are casement style with cast iron diamond panes, and there is one rectangular bay window. Notable architectural features include a saw-tooth stringcourse, a projecting gabled half-dormer, and blue brick lozenges on the south gable wall. The cottages also have decorative barge boards and a massive central stack with vertical saw tooth ridging.
