Description
Attleborough Lodge is a Grade II listed Cottage Ornée, originally built as two dwellings and serving as the former lodge to Kimberley Hall. It dates from around 1800 and features rendered brick with a thatched roof, designed in an L shape. The building is one storey high with an attic and includes 2-light casement windows that have triangular heads and elongated diamond leading. Some of the windows are enclosed beneath 4-centred arches. Each wing has a doorway (the one to the south is blocked) with thatched porches supported by tree trunks. The east side has three attic gables, while the south side has two. The cusped fascias and barge boards are likely later additions. There are two axial stacks, and the south facade is surrounded by curious metal railings with rotating spurs around the ground floor windows, presumably to keep cattle away.
