Description
5 and 6 Station Road are a pair of estate cottages dated 1866, featuring a datestone with the Wodehouse crest and motto. The cottages are constructed of brick with a jettied timber-framed first floor and have decorative plain-tiled roofs. They have an asymmetric plan, with a short gabled wing on one side, and rise to two storeys. The windows are mullion and transom casement types, with complex polygonal designs made from cast iron panes. There is one gabled rectangular bay window and a projecting gabled half-dormer. All gables are adorned with decorative barge boards. The timber frame is filled with pebbledash on one side and herringbone brickwork on the other. A single central stack features polychrome polygonal chimneys, and the roofs are topped with decorative ridge tiles.
