Description
12 The Thoroughfare is a 16th-century timber-framed building with a 18th-century red brick front. It features a steeply pitched black glazed pantile roof with gabled ends and a coved eaves cornice. The building has two storeys and an attic, with attic windows located in the gable ends. On the first floor, there are three sash windows in moulded casings without glazing beams. The ground floor has a 19th-century shop front with narrow pilasters and a cornice topped with cast iron cresting. To the left, there is a moulded doorcase with a modern glazed door. A brick chimney stack is present, and the cellar contains two small niches, one with a pointed head and the other with a cusped design, along with brick arched recesses.
