Description

Number 16 on The Thoroughfare in Harleston is an 18th-century building constructed of painted brick. It features a steeply pitched hipped slate roof and a heavy cornice with umdillioned detailing. The building is two storeys tall with an attic, which includes two attic dormers that have flat heads and sash windows with glazing bars. On the first floor, there are five sash windows with glazing bars. The ground floor has a large projecting Victorian shop front that includes pilasters, a moulded cornice, and a blind case. The shop front extends around the right-hand side facing Union Street, where there are three additional windows above, two of which are blind. The building also has brick chimney stacks.
