Description
17 The Thoroughfare is a 18th-century building located in Harleston. It features a roughcast exterior and a steeply pitched black glazed pantile roof with gabled ends and slightly moulded eaves. The building has two storeys and an attic, with attic windows located in the gable ends. There are three windows, which are sashes set in exposed casing without glazing bars; the ground floor left window has been replaced by plate glass. The central entrance has a fielded panel door in a moulded case, accompanied by a reeded transom and a rectangular fanlight. To the right on the ground floor, there is a pilastered Victorian shop front with a fascia and blind case. The front wall facing Swan Lane is faced with late 19th-century brick. At the rear, there are wings featuring wood mullion and transom windows.
