Description
Nos 6 and 8 on The Thoroughfare in Harleston are 18th-century buildings made of painted brick. They feature a steeply pitched roof covered with nipped pantiles and have overhanging eaves. The buildings are two storeys high with an attic and contain six windows that are sashes without glazing bars. There is a moulded string course at the floor level. The ground floor has an off-centre doorway set in a moulded case, which includes a rectangular fanlight and a moulded panel door with fielded panels. To the right of the doorway, there are two sashes in exposed casings, while to the left is a large shop front from the late 19th or early 20th century, complete with a fascia and cornice. The roof also features two small flat-roof dormers and a central brick chimney stack.
