Description

The stable at Kirstead Hall is a 17th-century farm building, now used as a milking parlour. It is constructed of English bond brick and has a roof made of pantiles and glazed black pantiles. The west face, which faces the Hall, features altered openings, including two low blocked doorways with soldier arches. There are three 19th-century glazed openings under the eaves, with two in larger part-blocked openings. The building has moulded brick kneelers supporting stepped parapet gables, and a 19th-century window in the south gable wall. Additionally, there is a segmental arched opening to the first floor of the north gable wall, which contains a four-light mullion that is partly slatted to the gable. Inside, the stable is ceiled and features chamfered transverse beams.
